Dr. Phil for College Students

In her years  of working with students, Elizabeth Hamblet has found that many students are resistant to trying strategies that can help them turn things around.  She has found an  unlikely ally in Dr. Phil McGraw.

Dr. Phil has some quirky, witty chestnuts that Elizabeth has used as a way to get students to get past their resistance and embrace change.

Elizabeth C. Hamblet is a learning specialist at Columbia University and a contributing writer for Disability Compliance for Higher Education.  She is  also a  consultant and a presenter at local and national conferences.



WINAHEAD is made up of representatives from thirty institutions. Our members are professionals employed by two- and four-year colleges and universities who work directly with students with disabilities to ensure equal access to higher education. WIN indicates the geographic area we represent: Western Iowa and Nebraska. AHEAD is our national parent organization, the Association on Higher Education and Disability.
